In order to understand one another, we must first be able to communicate with each other. Mosaic therefore seeks to equip its students with the linguistic fluency needed to converse with citizens of other nations and cultures. Its linguistic training is centered around, but not limited to, the three languages most commonly spoken in our globalized world: English, Spanish & French.
Consistent with our mission, Mosaic has developed a unique pedagogy that combines cultural and linguistic training. Rather than teach language in a vacuum, by providing vocabulary and grammar instruction alone, Mosaic teaches language through the literature, history, philosophy and culture of the people who speak that language. We therefore teach the poetry of Lorca in Spanish classes, and that of Whitman in our English classes.
Furthermore, all students enrolled in our language classes are welcome to attend free cultural workshops each Friday evening. These workshops are offered weekly in English and Spanish, and explicitly discuss the culture of the language students are studying. They provide students with a forum in which to practice their chosen language in a cultural context. Equally important, they also help students to build cultural fluency as their linguistic abilities develop.

- The Language Immersion Program offers students the opportunity to rapidly develop their linguistic competence through intensive language classes. As Mosaic teaches language alongside culture, students also gain an appreciation of the cultures and countries in which their chosen language is spoken.
- The International Internship Program offers students the opportunity to study a foreign language while simultaneously gaining international work experience in a corporation, government agency, non-profit organization or school.
- The Mosaic Social Justice Summer offers students the opportunity to gain international work experience in a social justice-related NGO. Students fight for equality, gain an enhanced understanding of global inequity, and develop linguistic competence all in one summer.
- The Peace Through Travel Program offers students the opportunity to directly promote intercultural understanding by traveling to an under-visited country in the Muslim world. Students study the history, culture, and philosophy of the country they are about to visit, providing them with the knowledge necessary to truly comprehend that country and its people.

We must begin to see the beauty in the differences between cultures and countries.
